Bird's Eye Building

Gouache and ink resist on watercolor paper. This is the old Bird's Eye building on Commercial Street in Gloucester, MA. Soon to be demolished to make way for a hotel.  I will be sorry to see the Fort Square area altered.  I often park here and paint the harbor across the street.

Gloucester Marine Railways

This scene is from the boatyard in Rocky Neck, Gloucester.  It's the oldest working boatyard in America.  This is my favorite hangout, and where the three vessels now at the Boston Tea Party Museum were built or restored.  I loved watching the process.  At the right is the scaffolding for The Beaver.
