Gloucester Marine Railways

This scene is from the boatyard in Rocky Neck, Gloucester.  It's the oldest working boatyard in America.  This is my favorite hangout, and where the three vessels now at the Boston Tea Party Museum were built or restored.  I loved watching the process.  At the right is the scaffolding for The Beaver.

Painted in Rye, NH on a very windy day.  I was encouraged by the instructor to paint a big sky.   I usually end up with a little strip of sky in my paintings so this was a first
